Alhamdulillah with hardworking and supporting from all sides, SMP Negeri 1 Banjarnegara appointed as RSBI ( The pioneer of International Standardize School) based on the letter of appointment from directorate general education management and intermediate, number : 230/C30/KEP/2008 on February 8th, 2008. by this certificate SMP Negeri 1 Banjarnegara in 2008/2009, begins open and apply the new program. The teaching and learning in this program is different from the regular one, bilingual is the characteristic in learning process especially for MIPA, mastering ICT is compulsary for the students, English communication must be practised everyday.
